Some questions need more than a self-service model. We partner with universities, agencies, and consultants on coupled surface-water–groundwater and PFAS studies — and on opening more public data.
The SWATGenX platform runs the routine cases on its own: generate a watershed model, calibrate it, download it. But a defensible PFAS site study, a coupled groundwater investigation, or a new regional dataset benefits from working together — combining your site knowledge and data with the platform and its methods. That collaboration is where the research papers behind this site came from.
Where a collaboration helps
Site-scale soil→vadose→aquifer→stream PFAS modeling with two-way SWAT+/MODFLOW 6 — the approach behind the Wurtsmith reconstruction, applied to your site.
Coupled water-balance and exchange studies where a stand-alone surface or groundwater model is not enough on its own.
Extending the groundwater lithology and soil-PFAS inventories with a state or agency’s records — openly released and citable, as we already do with several state programs.
Proof, not promises
The coupled method has been demonstrated on real legacy-contamination sites: the Wurtsmith AFB reconstruction (1971–2024, from public data only) and the Rogue River, Michigan study behind the SWAT+MODFLOW-6 coupling paper. The national groundwater and soil-PFAS inventories are open and citable. Everything we would build with you rests on methods you can already inspect in the research portfolio.
