The Susquehanna on NHDPlus HR: about one and a half times the mapped flow paths

The Susquehanna is the Chesapeake Bay's northern sub-basin: 19 eight-digit basins (HUC8) from New York to Maryland. NHDPlus Version 2 (release 2.1) maps flow paths at 1:100,000 and NHDPlus HR mostly at 1:24,000 or finer. Across the whole Susquehanna, HR maps 79,717 km of network flow paths against 51,341 km in NHDPlus Version 2, about 1.55 times the length. SWATGenX builds its SWAT+ models on NHDPlus HR; two of them sit here: Lycoming Creek near Trout Run (USGS 01550000) and Bixler Run near Loysville (USGS 01567500).

This is the Susquehanna, the Chesapeake Bay's northern sub-basin: 19 eight-digit basins, from New York to Maryland. Start in one of them, the Tioga. NHDPlus Version 2 maps its flow paths at one to one hundred thousand. NHDPlus HR maps them mostly at one to twenty-four thousand or finer. Across the whole Susquehanna, HR maps about one and a half times as many kilometers of flow paths: 79,717 against 51,341. We build on HR, and two of our models sit here: Lycoming Creek near Trout Run, and Bixler Run near Loysville. The Susquehanna, on the network your model is built on.
