What is in a model package

Reference: the files and layers in a downloaded SWAT+ project.

A downloaded package is a standard SWAT+ project assembled from national datasets. At a high level it contains:

• Hydrologic Response Units (HRUs) — the model’s land units, derived from land use, soils, and slope.
• The channel and reservoir network, delineated from NHDPlus HR hydrography.
• Weather inputs (precipitation and temperature) from national climate data.
• Soil parameters from gSSURGO and land use from NLCD.
• The SWAT+ input files needed to run the model, plus provenance metadata describing how each layer was prepared.
